Dylan's journey with SendNet as Senior Supervisor in our French fulfillment center

Meet Dylan.
Dylan is Senior Supervisor at PAR1, our French fulfillment center outside Paris. He joined SendNet in January 2022 as an associate (picker and packer) and was one of our first hires at PAR1.
During his time at SendNet, Dylan has taken on more and more responsibility and was recently promoted to Senior Supervisor. In this role he makes sure every process at PAR1 meets the guidelines designed to optimise operations and safeguard safety. Together with his colleagues and managers he reviews the various processes to see what measures they can take to keep everything running smoothly.
Why did you want to work at SendNet?
At first I wasn't really keen on joining SendNet. I was already working at another company not far from PAR1 and wasn't really looking for anything new. Even so, I accepted the invitation to an interview with the PAR1 director after he called me personally to make his offer.
The interview went really well and it genuinely sparked my interest in the role. I accepted the offer straight away, because for several reasons it felt like the right move. First, it was a brand-new fulfillment center for a German start-up that had just opened in France. I was one of the first people hired and they weren't planning to take on many more at that point, so it looked like a great opportunity to develop quickly in the near future.
How has your role developed since you joined SendNet?
When I joined SendNet a year and a half ago, I started as an associate. That's the entry-level role in the fulfillment centers. In that job you do things like picking, packing, assembling parcels, dispatching parcels and checking and recording goods arriving from our merchants.
Looking at where I am now: through patience, hard work and persistence I've worked my way up to Senior Supervisor at PAR1. I take on that responsibility every day with enthusiasm and in good spirits.
What does a day in your life look like?
Every day is very different for me. I'm someone who lives in the here and now and enjoys each day as it comes.
Generally I start my days off with a smile, good spirits, humour and plenty of laughter.
In the morning I arrive at the FC and get on with the work I need to do. Around 11am we all take a break, where we can sit in the sun for half an hour, grab something to eat and have a good chat. Then we're back at work until 1pm, when we all have lunch together.
After lunch it's back to work. I still help out with picking and packing orders sometimes, but these days I mainly focus on overseeing and evaluating our various processes. Usually I coach new associates through the processes and make sure all the daily or weekly targets are hit, alongside handling outbound parcels and communicating with external carriers.
What would you say to your younger self, just starting out in your career?
I'd say the most important thing is to always keep your head up and never give up, whatever your goals in life are.
Life isn't always easy, so whether you win or lose, you should always stay humble and just keep working.
What's your favourite memory of SendNet?
My favourite moment from my career at SendNet came not long after I joined the company. We had a party at PAR1, organised by the team from the Paris office. Everyone on the French team was invited, along with a few people from the Berlin office.
During a conversation I had with Oskar Ziegler, one of the company's co-founders, I arranged SendNet hoodies for my team and myself.
Another time we had a competition between all the SendNet fulfillment centers to see which one was most punctual in hitting deadlines. PAR1 won, so two people from that FC got the chance to travel to Berlin. I was lucky enough to be chosen along with one of my colleagues to go to Berlin and visit the fulfillment centers and the teams there.
